Monument Rebels & SOCO Girls Welcome Shaun Hathaway as President

The Monument Rebels and SOCO Girls are excited to announce that Shaun Hathaway has been named the new President of the Rebels and SOCO Girls programs. As hockey in Monument continues to rapidly grow, Joe Stanczyk will transition to a leadership role across the organization driving strategic initiatives and supporting all hockey programs, allowing Hathaway to focus fully on leading and elevating the Rebels and SOCO experience.

With a player-first philosophy overseeing all Rebels and SOCO hockey operations, Hathaway's focus is strengthening the partnership between players, coaches, and parents by providing proven resources, best practices, and leadership education to maximize the development of every athlete. He believes that engaged families and committed volunteer coaches are essential to building an outstanding youth hockey experience.

“Hockey in Monument has always been about community,” Hathaway said. “My goal is to build on the incredible foundation that already exists, continue to shape a culture where players develop passion for the game, families feel connected, and everyone is proud to be part of the Rebels and SOCO family.”

Hathaway brings over 30 years of youth hockey experience to players, coaches and families. His hockey résumé includes two graduate degrees (M.S. in Sport Studies and M.A. in Teaching), service as Colorado’s Coach-in-Chief and ADM Coordinator, and more than 15 years volunteering with USA Hockey as a Coaching Education Program instructor and player development camp coach and evaluator.

Before joining the Rampage and Rebels organization in 2023, Hathaway held leadership positions with Team Colorado AAA Girls, Aspen Junior Hockey, and the Colorado Springs Tigers. A Level 5 USA Hockey certified coach, he has coached at every level in amateur hockey, including NCAA Division I, the USHL, Tier I AAA (14U-18U), girls hockey, and recreational youth hockey.
